The Daughters of Odu was put in place to establish a very up close and personal in-depth understanding of the matriarchal aspect of Ifa. The feminine principle of Odu , Oyeku Meji . If it was not for the feminine principle’s existence in Odu Ifa there would not be 256 odus. There would only be one, Eji Ogbe. Because of the existence and position of Oyeku Meji we are clear that the masculine role in the Oracle is the pinnacle of the female role in its lead. This is shown and manifested in the order of the sacred Odu Oracle itself. For Eji Ogbe is senior and Oyeku Meji is junior.
There are many under a very deep misconception about the part and role that is played in the arena of Ifa and Ifa practices pertaining to Apetibis and Iyanifas. And in the privacy of our inner sanctum circle, we clearly bring to light the full roles and parts that Apetibis and Iyanifas play in the Oracle. Every woman that initiates to Ifa is not called to be Iyanifa as the same can be said for every man.
